Hellenic Museum

The Hellenic Museum is Australia’s only museum dedicated to showcasing the transformational power of Greek art, history and culture.

The ancient Greeks gave the world many gifts, including those of science, politics, philosophy and democracy. At the Museum you will discover that these are not stale history lessons but a living framework for progressive thought that has been woven into the subconscious of modern humanity.

Experience 8,000 years of Greek civilisation from Neolithic treasures to bold contemporary art. Old and new collide in seven exhibitions curated across two floors of the former Royal Mint building, including Gods, Myths & Mortals from Athens' Benaki Museum, photography by Bill Henson, a collection of genuine Olympic torches, and more.

The Museum hosts events through the year, including the popular Summer Cinema, theatre, live music, school holiday programs and lectures. The Museum Garden is home to ³Ô¹ÏÍø's first M-Pavilion and a premiere venue for events.
