Naughtons Hotel
This historic 150-year-old pub is the perfect setting for an old-school roast. Head to Naughtons in Parkville every Sunday for the roast of the day, loaded with all the trimmings. It might be crackling-lined pork belly, roasted pork shoulder or a generous serve of expertly cooked beef. But Naughtons always gets it right. Knock back a few wines and fight off the Sunday scaries with live acoustic music sets from 4pm. It’s available from midday until sold out.
Langlands Restaurant and Bar
Enjoy a Sunday roast at Langlands, designed to share with friends. Choose from the porchetta or slow roasted black Angus sirloin. Both come with chimichurri sauce and roast onion and mustard gravy. Then wait for your table to be piled high with shared sides. Think fluffy Yorkies, roasted pumpkin, charred broccolini and kipfler potatoes in beef tallow. Still hungry? Add on sticky toffee pudding or tiramisu for dessert. And knock back $10 beer and wine specials.

Springrock Public Bar
It may be one of ³Ô¹ÏÍø's newest pubs, but Springrock does things the old-school way when it comes to roast. This one gets bonus points for being available both Saturday and Sunday. A proper pub roast, the menu changes weekly and clocks in at just $25. You can be sure it will always come with delicious sides and no shortage of gravy.
Daughter's Arms
Classic pub grub and flavour-packed Indian food meet at Daughter’s Arms. Grab a seat by the fire for the hearty roast, which is straight up British. Available at lunch and dinner every day, it comes with all the trimmings. There’s also an impressive dessert trolley to finish your meal plus loads of Indian and British beers on tap.

Jimmy Watson’s
Legendary wine bar and restaurant Jimmy Watson's has been doing its thing on Lygon Street since 1935. It’s got a quirky European bar vibe complete with Italian food, but on Sundays you’re in for a classic warming roast. Order a red and enjoy it in the restaurant or out in the courtyard. The Lincoln
Tucking into a warming roast by the fireplace at The Lincoln is one of winter’s little pleasures. The pub’s focus on locally-sourced produce and refined gastropub fare attracts a regular crowd on Sundays. Boasting a rotating menu of free-range pork and crackling, grass-fed lamb and beef, it’s a true ³Ô¹ÏÍø icon. $34 gets you all the trimmings including roast potatoes, seasonal veg, a Yorkie and extra gravy. The Sherlock Holmes Inn
At The Sherlock Holmes Inn, the menu takes liberties with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s legacy. Roast is on Mrs Hudson's pantry specials menu, and it might just be one of ³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s cheapest! The roast of the day comes with golden chats, seasonal veggies and a fluffy Yorkshire pudding. To find your way to this convivial British inn, follow the stairs down to the Collins Street basement.
Green Man's Arms
Score a spot by the open fireplace and tuck into a legit tasting vegan Sunday roast at Green Man's Arms. The cosy all-veg pub does a hearty nut roast that will satisfy carnivores too. It's made with lentils, nuts and mushrooms and comes with all your classic roast sides. Think hasselback potato, peas with mint jelly and a gravy-soaked Yorkshire pudding. Got gluten-free pals? Just leave off the Yorkie and it's coeliac friendly!

Captain Melville
Captain Melville is firing up the ovens for an old-fashioned roast each Sunday for just $25. It's a rotating menu but sides might include roast baby turnips and carrots, duck fat potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and cider gravy. Throw in a beer tasting and this is winter at its finest.
The General Assembly
If you're a fan of live acoustic music and waterfront views, head to The General Assembly every Sunday from 12pm. $30 gets you a classic beef or chicken roast with all the trimmings, including a giant Yorkshire pudding to load up with gravy.
