The Tudor Choristers present a unique concert that blends the golden threads of Renaissance polyphony with timeless Christmas traditions. This year’s event marks a poignant moment of transition, the concert jointly conducted by outgoing Music Director Carlos del Cueto and his successor Chris Watson.
The concert begins with musical treasures from the masters of early choral composition, including Monteverdi’s magnificent Beatus Vir, then takes a short detour to the New World with a trio of gorgeous Mexican folk songs. After the interval, the concert transforms into a glorious celebration of Christmas, including Ralph Vaughan Williams and Gustav Holst’s settings of beloved carols, and culminates in the much-loved finale of cherished traditional carols where everyone is invited to sing along with the choir.
