Stronger Families, Stronger Communities
The Stronger Families, Stronger Communities exhibition elevates the voices of nine First Nations men and emerging artists (David Roe, Tyhrys Wilson, Gurrenah Foley, Peter Hammersley, Jade Kennedy, Aron (Roony) Granbeau, Jerremy Jose, Towah Peason and Brodie Peters-Godden) who have taken part in Dardi Munwurro’s healing and leadership programs.
Dardi Munwurro, meaning Strong Spirit, is a specialist First Nations family violence service based in Naarm that delivers programs to support healing, strengthen families, and break the cycle of intergenerational trauma in First Nations communities.
The show explores the themes of strength, healing, resilience and cultural pride of the individuals working to break cycles of trauma and build safer communities.
