St Patrick's Cathedral

  • Heritage listed
  • Community

St Patrick’s Cathedral is the mother church of the Catholic Archdiocese of ³Ô¹ÏÍø. Built in stages between 1858 and 1940, it is a leading example of Gothic Revival architecture, and the largest church building in Victoria.

The bluestone and sandstone building is a place of worship, prayer, and reflection in today’s busy world.

The Cathedral’s highly regarded organ and exceptional acoustics ensure its popularity with leading musicians and choral groups, as a favoured setting for concerts of sacred music.

Mass times vary, check the website.

The Cathedral shop offers a wide range of souvenirs, gifts, CDs and handcrafted items and is open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm and Sunday 8.30am to 1pm.
