Rituals: Gifts for the Gods
Across cultures and centuries, ritual has offered humanity a way to connect to each other, to the divine, and to the mysteries of life and death. Rituals: Gifts for the Gods invites visitors on a journey through the sacred landscapes of ancient Greece, where caves, temples and mountaintops echoed with offerings and acts of devotion.
This original international exhibition is the first outcome of a new landmark partnership between the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Greece, and Hellenic Museum, Australia. Experience 119 exquisite artefacts from over a dozen of Greece's most respected collections, and trace the history of ancient rituals from the earliest cults and sanctuaries to the adoption of Olympian gods and mythologies.
In a rapidly changing world, Rituals is a reminder that while beliefs may vary, the human need for connection, meaning and reverence endures. Explore the power of ritual past and present, and reflect on the sacred moments that shape life today.
