My Brilliant Career
My dear fellow Australians… You can’t keep a fierce woman down. Sybylla Melvyn is back, and she’s bolder than ever.
Earning multiple five-star reviews in its sold-out premiere season, the joyous My Brilliant Career returns for a limited encore run. Led once more by the formidable Kala Gare, this smash-hit musical earned critical acclaim and five Green Room Awards, including Outstanding Production.
Set in the sweeping landscapes of 1890s Australia, the electric reimagining by Sheridan Harbridge, Dean Bryant and Mathew Frank transforms Miles Franklin’s literary heroine into a singer-songwriter for this very moment.
With a powerhouse score blending contemporary pop, bush ballad and raucous pub rock; a breathtaking design from Tony Award-winner Marg Horwell; and the dramatic focus and swift humour of Artistic Director Anne-Louise Sarks’s vision, this exhilarating return is a must-see for all ages.
Enjoy piano bar cocktail hour before the show, with live music and a free drink, from 6.30pm.
