Drawing from years of photographic documentation around her home studio, artist Mia Schoen selects moments of atmospheric intensity - turbulent skies, looming storm fronts, and fleeting light - that feel fantastical yet are entirely real.
These works monumentalise nature’s drama, transforming ephemeral weather events into enduring visual experiences. The skies, often ominous and charged, evoke a sense of impending change - war clouds as both literal and metaphorical portents.
The exhibition War Clouds and Weather invites viewers to pause and reflect on the shared environment we often overlook. It’s a meditation on nature's power, fragility, and the emotional resonance of the everyday sky.
The exhibition launches on Thursday 27 November, 5.30pm to 7pm.
