This is the second RSVP collaboration between the Firestation Print Studio and Southern Highlands Printmakers. The initial project exhibited in 2019 was developed to continue the already strong history of cultural exchange and collaboration prevalent among contemporary print studios. The intent behind the project is to stimulate new ideas, emotions and images, prompting artists to differentiate from their usual style and to experiment with new concepts and techniques.
With 20 artists from each group participating, these 40 artists first produced an initial print that spoke to their individual style and artistic practice. These prints were then paired with an artist from the collaborating interstate studio. Each printmaker received images of their paired printmakers work to prompt the second print in the exchange project.
Opening night celebrations are Thursday 6 November, 5pm-7pm.
