You're invited to a talk by Elisabetta Ferrari (University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø) and Andrea Righi (Monash University) with music and song by Stefano Ioele and Carlotta Migliolo
On 2 June 1946, after the devastation of war and the fall of fascism, millions of Italians, women voting for the very first time, were called to decide the future of the country: monarchy or republic. CO.AS.IT. presents an event that brings this moment to life. Film clips and live music opens windows into the emotions, struggles, and hopes of the time. Spanning the legacy of the Resistance, the birth of universal suffrage, the referendum, the election of the Constituent Assembly and the writing of the Italian constitution, this event offers a reflection on democracy, participation, and the meaning of collective choice. A story of the past that continues to speak to the present.
