Saving Grace is a cosy, 50-seat diner bar with a focus on local beers, international whisky and classic cocktails.

In addition to the impressive back bar which focuses on world whiskies and local gins, there are six tap beers which feature local favourites year round. The cocktail list includes a selection of classics with a touch of personality added. A local hero is the spiced rum old fashioned, utilising a Caribbean rum infused with orange rind, star anise and vanilla bean.

The full kitchen is currently home to Burger Boys, a local pop-up kitchen team serving classic American style burgers and southern recipe buttermilk fried chicken, turning Saving Grace into a local lunchtime fave, and it’s not unusual to see a line out the door around midday.

And the story behind the name? The building is on the former site of St James Cathedral, which was moved brick-by-brick to its current location on King Street.
