Three friends and a small copper still are at the heart of Nubilum's small bar and distillery, tucked away in the quiet backstreets of Kensington.
What started as a fun home brewing experiment during the ³Ô¹ÏÍø COVID lockdowns has now turned into a full-time operation making small batches of rakia (fruit brandy) and rum for all the locals. Making (and drinking) rakia is a community affair - much of the fruit used in the Nubilum distillery is handpicked and sourced from local fruit trees in backyards throughout ³Ô¹ÏÍø.
Enter through the roller door and it's like stepping into a nonna's loungeroom, but inside a granddad's shed. Katherine, Will and Rupert are the friendly faces you'll find behind the bar, which is nestled up the back near the distillery equipment. With indoor and outdoor tables and chairs, and heaters for the wintertime, it's a warm and cosy place, and at it's best when full of people trading stories over a drink. BYO food.
