Voices Behind the Seams

  • Talk
  • History

As part of Ethical Clothing Australia Week 2025, enjoy a live storytelling event featuring the Voices Behind the Seams: the hidden workers and outworkers within the Australian textile, clothing and footwear (TCF) industry, who will share their personal journeys and genuine love for sewing, in their own words.

Exploring themes of craftsmanship, challenges faced by workers, and hopes for the industry's future, the event will feature workers and includes Ethical Clothing Australia's National Manager, Rachel Reilly alongside host Linda Nguyen (Community Engagement Officer from the Timber, Furnishing & Textiles Union).

This is a rare opportunity to hear from the skilled workers who create the garments we wear but whose voices are rarely heard.
