Stories That Must Be Heard

  • Theatre
  • Music

This transformative concert of two bold works by acclaimed Australian composer Chloé Charody seamlessly fuses classical music and circus into a single, spellbinding genre, illuminating refugee experiences and amplifying voices that have been silenced by suffering and injustice.

The program features Truth in the Cage, a haunting song cycle performed by soprano Livia Brash and pianist Jerry Wong, offering a raw and moving testament to lives lost and stories unheard. Following this is the renowned violin sonata Limbo, a daring and visceral work that merges classical music and circus with extraordinary artistry. Acrobatic violinist Sonja Schebeck, acrobat Joshua Frazer, and pianist Allie Wang unite in a performance where sound and spectacle become one.

Together, these two works create an unforgettable artistic journey that shatters boundaries and speaks to the depths of the human spirit.

Presented by Nightingale Performing Arts Australia.
