Royal ³Ô¹ÏÍø Philharmonic: Haydn's The Creation

  • Family and kids
  • Music

Joseph Haydn’s glorious late oratorio The Creation is considered by many to be his greatest masterpiece, and one of the finest examples of a classical oratorio ever composed. Famous for its magnificent orchestration, sparkling arias and rousing choruses, it is one of the greatest of all oratorios.

Conductor Andrew Wailes leads an all-star cast of outstanding soloists – Australian/American soprano Rachelle Durkin; Japanese/ Australian mezzo-soprano Syrah Torii; tenor Michael Petruccelli and bass-baritone Christopher Richardson, along with the large choral and orchestral forces that Haydn envisaged for this great work.

A spectacular choir comprising both the Royal ³Ô¹ÏÍø Philharmonic Choir and ³Ô¹ÏÍø University Choral Society will be joined by over 50 players from the Royal ³Ô¹ÏÍø Philharmonic Orchestra in the magnificent setting of St Paul’s Cathedral.
