A pink diaphanous fabric inside the walls of the Royal Exhibition Building, creating a bubble like atmosphere.
21 – 24 Aug

MATRIA

  • Family and kids

A collaboration between local and international artists, the installation reimagines the building as a warm, immersive womb, enveloping its wooden bones in a translucent skin that pulses and breathes with rhythmic purpose.

A resonating soundtrack vibrates through the membrane, coaxing it to respond, while a solo vocalist creates ripples across its surface with breath and sound. Contemporary dancers stretch within its boundaries, exploring the limits of this tactile space. And within this unpoppable bubble, you too will find the freedom to perform your playful dreams.

As the membrane breathes, it reveals fleeting visions of possible futures, transforming exhalation into a form of visual divination. Here, centuries-old architecture and the promise of what’s to come converge in a dreamlike blend of art, breath, materials and prophecy – a uniquely ³Ô¹ÏÍø experience with a resonance that ripples far beyond.
