Thunderstorms are just like us, cycling through three distinct phases of growth, maturity and decay. In this expansive installation blanketing ³Ô¹ÏÍø Town Hall from above, Dutch artist and composer Boris Acket renders this ephemeral rhythm visible and sonic.

A flowing textile dances with light and sound, creating an ephemeral dialogue with the grandeur of ³Ô¹ÏÍø Town Hall Organ. View from above or below, the storm unfolds in real time – shifting, swelling and retreating across light and sound. The work pulses with an organic chaos – its movements never quite the same twice.

Acket’s attempt at control, like ours, is fleeting. For all our planning, the storm reminds us: some forces can only be witnessed, not wielded.
