Journey into a little-known chapter of Australia’s wartime history as the courage and sacrifice of Royal Australian Air Force aircrew in the Burma Campaign are brought to life.

More than 1,700 RAAF airmen served in Burma during the World War II, flying perilous missions over ‘the Hump’ into China, dropping agents into Southeast Asia, and undertaking bombing raids, reconnaissance, anti-submarine patrols, and fierce air battles.

Resolute is the first detailed history of Australia’s air war in Burma, and draws on years of research by authors Dr Andrew Kilsby and Dr Daryl Moran — both sons of RAAF veterans. In conversation with Peter Meehan OAM, they reveal the triumphs, tragedies, and endurance of this forgotten campaign.

Following the talk, enjoy a light afternoon tea before gathering on the Shrine Forecourt for a Last Post Service marking 80 years since the first draft of RAAF men returned from Burma aboard the SS Sontay.
