The Austral Salon of Music October recital features violinist Lydia Sawires.

Lydia completed her Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and is now in her final year at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM). Through her time at ANAM, Lydia has performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, ³Ô¹ÏÍø Symphony Orchestra, West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Auckland Philharmonia.

Lydia has also led the ANAM orchestra numerous times and worked with renowned artists such as Simone Young, Anthony Marwood, James Crabb, Christoffer Sundqvist and the Brodsky quartet. When she is not playing classical repertoire, Lydia performs in many musical projects including Arabic, tango, and contemporary chamber music.

For this recital, Lydia performs movements from Bach's solo Violin Partita. She will be joined by Louisa Breen (piano) to perform Violin Sonata No. 1 by Brahms.
