Asian Cinema Collective: Shutter

  • Film
  • Entertainment

After a night of drinking, Jane and her boyfriend, Tun, get into a hit-and-run accident, resulting in the death of a young woman. In the days following, Tun starts to find mysterious shadows and faces in his photographs as the couple realise that they can run but never hide from the consequences of their actions.

One of the most commercially successful horror films of the time, Shutter burst onto screens in 2004. Written and directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom, it was a breakthrough in South East Asian horror on the international stage, breaking records across Asia and the West.

See Shutter on the big screen (as the directors intended) rather than through 37 different grainy clips on YouTube or a pirated DVD from Asia.
