Vuitton started his career in 1837 as a trunk master when he was only 16 years old. Designing custom boxes and trunks as an apprentice, he developed into a highly skilled artisan.

Seventeen years later he opened his own workshop, followed by an atelier in Asnières where his products are still crafted today.
