Parlance Coffee

This takeaway coffee joint is hard to miss with sleek futuristic interiors, neon lights and splashes of cobalt blue. The ‘silky fusion’  signature bev is a must-try. The cold filter brew comes with cream, a splash of Earl Grey tea and a sprinkle of lime zest. Grab a Reuben sandwich for lunch and don’t overlook the sweets cabinet loaded with bundt cakes and pastries. Find Parlance on A’Beckett Street or the new store in The Strand.

Blue Doors

Born in Indonesia and beloved by coffee-drinkers in five cities now, brews a mean cup. The first thing to know about this cafe? It’s not behind a blue door, it’s beneath the striped awning on Somerset Place. The essential order here is an iced latte sweetened with agave or maple syrup. It’s best enjoyed outside in the sunshine down this cute little laneway.

Oko

Replete with white minimalist design, is a dedicated coffee bar located in unexpected surrounds. Wander up A'Beckett Street and look for the glowing rectangular sign. Sip your oat milk iced latte beneath the striking light display. Peruse the curated selection of Kono brew gear, or shop the range of bespoke coffee beans. Pair a cup of filter coffee with a croissant for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

Puzzle

is perched on a busy city corner, ready whenever you need that caffeine buzz. Open until 6pm or 7pm everyday, it's the perfect spot to refuel post-work (or pre-party). Craving an after dinner treat? Try the dirty iced matcha, a caffeine-loaded refresher topped with foamy cream. Find it on the corner of Swanston Street and Little Collins.

Louie

Follow the glow down Equitable Place to find Louie. This hole-in-the-wall is as warm and inviting as the coffee it brews. Gourmet mushroom toasties are on offer but it's the dreamy range of sweet and savoury muffins that keeps us going back. Grab a fluffy white choc and raspberry treat to go with your filter coffee or espresso. Afternoon slump cured!

Rosso Coffee Experience

if you've ever wondered how coffee is made, this huge warehouse roastery in North ³Ô¹ÏÍø will sate your curiosity. Visit the make-your-own-coffee bar where the baristas will teach you how to brew the perfect cup. Watch (and smell!) the roasters in action. Or settle in for brunch. There's brioche French toast, hot buttered lobster rolls and plenty of gluten free and vegan options.

Wreckyn Street Coffee

Tucked away on a side street is North ³Ô¹ÏÍø's coolest new local cafe. Open on weekdays only, Wreckyn Street Coffee is best known for its iced tiramisu drink. A coffee that doubles as a dessert? Consider us sold. The long black coffee is topped with a big dollop of cream and a dusting of cocoa powder. It tastes just like the real thing.
